Dr. Anthony Fauci Believes Israel is Close to Achieving Herd Immunity3 min read
The Chief Medical Advisor to the President of the United States, Dr. Anthony Fauci, recently talked about the contributions he made in helping the country fight off the novel coronavirus pandemic, as well as his experience working for the former President, Donald Trump, and the current President, Joe Biden.
Fauci stated that if asked about his worst nightmare, he would say it was the emergence of the deadly disease that jumps from species to species, and animals to humans. He added that such a disease would be terrifying because one, it could easily be spread by touch and two, it could cause a potential catastrophe, leading to a rise in usual mortality and morbidity. In his words, the Chief Medical Advisor’s worst nightmare has come true.
Continuing, he said that when in doubt of whether there is light at the end of the tunnel, he turns towards the progress that has been made by the State of Israel. Fauci acknowledged and commended the efforts of the government of Israel in its vaccination campaign.
The Chief Medical Advisor went on to talk about the various advantages that the Jewish state had, which led to the success of its vaccination campaign. He quoted that the country consists of a small population and its political circumstances always align with its size when the situation calls for it.
He went on to add that in his expert opinion, the State of Israel is very close to achieving herd immunity. It is a situation when a considerable portion of a country’s population is vaccinated and therefore, protected from a contagious disease. Thus, herd immunity in the country will prevent the spread of the deadly disease.
According to Fauci, there are other countries which are currently suffering greater consequences due to the spread of the virus. However, he believes that no country is incapable of controlling the infection and taking action against it.
The Chief Medical Advisor predicted that countries across the world will have to continue with the vaccination for at least a handful of years. He went on to urge youngsters and children to get inoculated. In his opinion, these two groups of the population are a vital vehicle to progress the vaccinating of the community as a whole.
Fauci went on to speak highly of President Biden, given that he has worked for both the Biden and Trump administrations. He recalled how the current leader of the US has promised to follow scientific evidence and data to work towards the progress of the country where the coronavirus pandemic is concerned.
The Advisor further discussed of the agreements that he had had back when the pandemic took over the country and the Trump administration had been in power. He also disclosed that he had opposed the use of hydroxychloroquine, which made him the target of numerous death threats.
It was also reported that Naomi Wolf, an anti-vaccine activist and conspiracy theorist, accused the Chief Medical Advisor of being beholden to the State of Israel, instead of serving his own country.
