Nov 26, 2020

The Prime Minister of Israel, Benjamin Netanyahu, addressed the public on Thursday to talk about the upcoming delivery of the coronavirus vaccine to the country. He stated that Israel will face no challenges when the various vaccine candidates arrive and it is time to store, freeze, or distribute them.

Netanyahu said that the country will have enough vaccines to be distributed to all the citizens of the country. He added that the number of vaccines coming in will allow one person to get vaccinated more than once, if that is what they want.

He expressed hope of finally being on the verge of ending the pandemic in the country. The Prime Minister said that the arrival of these multiple vaccines is not just a light at the end of the tunnel rather, a very large torch.

This speech was given by the leader of the nation while he was visiting the Teva SLE Logistic Center. This center has been set up to handle and store the vaccine candidates that are soon to be delivered. Moreover, special conditions have been accounted for in order to ensure that the vaccines are appropriately stored.

The Moderna and Pfizer vaccines are based on a delicate messenger RNA. Therefore, they require to be stored at freezing temperatures that lie somewhere between negative 20 degree Celsius and negative 70 degrees Celsius.

Netanyahu said that in his opinion, the country or the center will have no problems when it comes to freezing, storing, and distribution of the vaccine. He stressed on how important the storage of the vaccine is.

Back in the year 1901, SLE was established. Since then, it has made various efforts to become one of the key players in the healthcare market of the country. As per its website, the company opened the doors to its logistics center in the year 2011, located in Shoham.

Additionally, the company believes itself to be one of the world’s most advanced and largest logistic centers. It is known for storing and transporting not only medical equipment but, pharmaceuticals as well. The center is also a supplier of one out of four prescriptions in the country of Israel.

Yuli Edelstein, the Health Minister, took a tour of the center to inspect the special arrangements made for the vaccine candidates. He said that the company has been working tirelessly to make sure that there was an ample supply of routine medication amidst the pandemic. This was a problem faced by various countries around the world, except Israel.

However, he made sure to remind the citizens of the country that it could still take several months for all the vaccine candidates to be delivered to Israel.

On the other hand, the Prime Minister maintained that people should continue to cooperate with the authorities. He urged them to wear masks at all times and follow all health regulations laid down by the authorities. Edelstein added that people should adhere to all guidelines so that they are able to live a reasonable life alongside the virus.
